About Learnzi and these terms
Learnzi provides online teaching tools for independent teachers serving Sri Lankan O/L and A/L students. These terms apply to the public website, teacher applications and use of the teaching platform. By registering or using the service, you agree to the terms applicable to your use. The Privacy Policy explains how information is handled.
Questions about these terms should be directed to Learnzi Support at [email protected] or +94 76 262 0439. These terms take effect on 2 November 2026.
Teacher applications and approval
Provide accurate, current details about your identity, contact information, teaching levels, subjects, language, qualifications and experience. Do not impersonate another person or misrepresent your qualifications.
Submitting an application does not activate teacher access. You must confirm your email and receive Learnzi’s approval before entering the teacher studio. A pending application is not a promise of approval, a review deadline, income or student enrolments.
Teachers must hold a Sri Lankan National Identity Card and provide their own NIC number when applying. Format validation is a preliminary check, not proof that a number was issued or belongs to the applicant. Learnzi may request further verification before approval. Do not use another person’s NIC.
Students are not required to be 18 or over to learn on Learnzi. Where parental permission, supervision or assistance with payments is required by applicable law, it must be obtained. Holding an NIC does not by itself establish legal capacity to enter every agreement.
Your account and security
Use an email address you control and keep your password confidential. Do not share accounts or let another person use your teacher access. Tell Learnzi promptly if you suspect unauthorised access, incorrect account details or a security problem.
You are responsible for activity you authorise through your account. Learnzi may restrict access when reasonably necessary to investigate suspected misuse or protect users, and will handle disputed access through support.
Your prices and Learnzi’s commission
Teachers choose their own fees. Learnzi charges no signup fee or monthly platform fee. The agreed revenue split is 80% to the teacher and a 20% commission to Learnzi for each sale.
Payment-provider transaction fees are non-refundable. Refunds, chargebacks and related adjustments can affect the earnings available for payout. A transaction or refund breakdown should distinguish the sale amount, platform commission, provider charges and any applicable adjustment. Contact Learnzi Support if a breakdown is unclear. Teachers remain responsible for tax obligations that apply to their earnings.
Card payments and teacher payouts
Students can pay by card through Learnzi, and teacher earnings are paid to the teacher’s bank account. Teachers must supply accurate bank details through the authorised payout process and must never send passwords, PINs, card security codes or one-time payment codes to Learnzi support.
Teachers may request a payout whenever they wish once the available payout amount reaches LKR 1,000. The minimum payout request is LKR 1,000. A request is not a guarantee of instant settlement: bank processing, payment settlement, verification or unresolved disputes may affect completion. Contact support to check the status of a payout.
Card payments are handled through Payable, Learnzi’s payment partner. Do not attempt to manipulate transactions, misrepresent payment status or request payout of funds that have not become available.
Refunds, cancellations and payment disputes
Learnzi handles refunds and chargebacks together with Payable, its payment partner. Requests are assessed against the transaction, the issue reported, the applicable payment rules and legal rights. Approval of a request is not automatic. Payment-provider transaction fees are non-refundable, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
For a cancelled class, missing access, duplicate charge or other payment issue, contact [email protected] with your transaction reference and a description of the problem. Teachers must cooperate with investigations and supply relevant delivery or access information. Learnzi will explain the decision and any adjustment to the relevant parties. Do not send full card details or security codes.
Teachers must communicate cancellations or material changes promptly. These terms do not exclude refund or other consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. A bank or card-provider dispute may also follow that provider’s own process.
Teaching responsibly
Describe your classes and study packs accurately, including their subject, level, language, price, format and any stated access period. Deliver what you advertise and communicate material changes to affected students.
Only upload or share material you have the necessary rights and permissions to use. Protect student information, treat students respectfully and obtain any permissions required before recording or sharing a person’s image, voice or work. Do not promise exam grades, results or earnings that you cannot substantiate.
Teaching content and intellectual property
Do not upload copyrighted books, recordings, exam materials, music or other content without a lawful basis or the rights holder’s permission. Report suspected infringement to Learnzi with enough information to identify the work and the material in question.
Teachers retain complete ownership of their lessons, study packs and recordings, subject to any rights belonging to other rights holders. By uploading content, you give Learnzi a non-exclusive permission to store, process, stream and deliver it as needed to provide your teaching service and access you have authorised.
Learnzi will not resell your lessons or recordings, or license them to third-party content providers, without your consent. Technical hosting and delivery needed to operate the service are not a transfer of content ownership. Ending future availability does not automatically resolve existing student access, payment disputes or lawful retention needs; contact support to arrange removal and account closure.
Learnzi’s name, logo and website design may not be used to impersonate the platform or falsely imply endorsement.
Acceptable use and student privacy
Use Learnzi for legitimate learning and teaching. Do not misuse access to the platform, other accounts or student information.
- Do not harass, threaten, discriminate, exploit children, or publish unlawful, abusive or sexually exploitative material.
- Do not upload malware, bypass access controls, interfere with services, scrape private information, or facilitate cheating or fraud.
- Do not use student contact details, grades, exam responses or learning activity for unrelated advertising or share them without an appropriate basis.
- Do not distribute paid lessons or study packs beyond the permissions supplied for that content.
Service availability and access changes
Internet connections, devices, maintenance and third-party services can affect access to online lessons and tools. Learnzi does not promise uninterrupted availability, error-free operation or a particular learning or income outcome.
Learnzi may investigate reports and limit or suspend access for suspected fraud, serious misuse, unlawful content or security risks. Contact Learnzi if you believe a restriction is incorrect. Where appropriate, Learnzi will explain the restriction and the steps needed to resolve it; urgent protective action may be taken before notice.
You may request account closure through Learnzi Support. Closure must address outstanding classes, purchased access, remaining earnings, refunds and disputes. It does not forfeit money lawfully owed or erase obligations already incurred. Information may be retained as described in the Privacy Policy.
Custom solutions for institutes
Institutes can request a custom learning management solution. Its scope, hosting, support, pricing, payment arrangements and data responsibilities must be agreed separately. An enquiry does not create a custom-service agreement or change the standard teacher commission.
Questions, disputes and legal rights
Contact Learnzi first with a clear description of a problem and any relevant account or transaction reference so that it can be investigated. Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Disputes are subject to applicable law and may be taken to a court or other competent authority with jurisdiction. This document does not impose mandatory private arbitration or remove access to a legally available complaint or remedy. Learnzi does not guarantee grades, earnings or business results; responsibility for a loss will be determined under applicable law and the circumstances of the claim.
Updates and contacting Learnzi
The effective date appears on this page. Learnzi may update these terms as the service changes. Material changes affecting teacher obligations, commission or privacy will be communicated before they take effect where required. Any change remains subject to applicable law and does not remove rights already accrued.
